Tea Talks

Hey guys!

I hope everyone is having a great Saturday so far. Today I wanted to have an open discussion about routine. Since winter break has ended, I admit that I have struggled in getting back to my daily routine. Some routines are easier to get back into like classes, spending time with friends and my faith journey. However, my fitness journey has been put on the back burner, waking up from my bed at times is difficult. I know this is part of the human experience, where we don’t feel like doing something that is important.

During my break, I started reading again for pleasure and recently finished a book by Maya Angelou called Wouldn’t take nothing for my journey now. This is an easy to read book filled with truths that resonated with me. Most importantly, I took away from the book that knowing that God loves me enables me to be able to do or be anything. In addition, I am currently reading Made to Crave by Lysa Terkeurst and it continues to be such a blessing. I found these two at Half Price Bookstore and highly recommend them, especially if you are struggling in your journey.

Daily routines are good but I’m learning that it is okay to deviate from them and to be open to new ways of accomplishing what needs to be done. We all need an accountability partner to help us through all walks of life and having that has helped me when I am struggling. Other times just having a transparent conversation with God in my car helps so much and through that I feel peace to move forward with what needs to be done.

Getting back into a routine can be difficult so apart from an accountability partner it is important to take one day at a time. Routines don’t have to be so structured, mix it up every once in awhile, you might be surprised by how much you like trying something different. Routines are meant to help us throughout our life journey, if something isn’t working don’t be afraid to adjust your routine. I have certainly had to do that at times and it was for the better.

  1. Happy new year Queen! I won’t even lie but just admit that since the year started I have struggled to get back to routine. Maybe not really routine, but just a steady flow. But I’m trying not to put too much pressure on myself, and just adjust as the weeks progress. It’s the effects of a long holiday I guess😅

  2. I think my routine is going on Instagram for 15 minutes then brush my teeth, drink a glass of warm water, and have breakfast. I want to do exercise too! It just hard to make it into a routine. I am trying to do exercise every day. So far, I do it once every other day so I think I am getting there.
