I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a wonderful New Year. I spent some much-needed time away from the blog and now I’m back. Towards the end of the year, I become reflective on how my year has gone, what I am looking forward to and how far I have come. Like last year , I decided to do a yearly reflections for 2017.
Throughout this year, God has really provided opportunities to push myself out of my comfort zone. I am an introvert by nature and sometimes find it difficult to interact with new people in unfamiliar settings. My first instinct is to usually turn down a social invitation when there are a lot of people who I don’t know attending. My comfort zone often becomes like a second home to me.
When I truly sit down and reflect, I am reminded that all the experiences I have been a part of have equipped me towards my purpose. Some experiences, taught me patience, growth, maintaining a servant’s heart, discipline and how to work with different types of people. This year, I got plugged into a women’s bible study group, went kayaking, rode the Ferris Wheel at a local carnival (I’m not a big fan of heights so this was a big step for me), went kayaking, explored unique places in my hometown, moved cities, found a wonderful church to get plugged in and serve, attended my first women’s conference, went on a road trip with a dear friend and joined an amazing unconventional boot camp as a commitment to stay fit.
It’s amazing to look back and see how far that God has brought me. Through all the experiences, I am grateful for the insight I have gained through the high points and low points of the year. . Sometimes life is unexpected and I have learned to be perfectly okay with that. I truly believe that God has a plan for all of us and he will equip us no matter the season we are in, if we are willing to listen to him.
2017 was the year of discipline that I desperately needed and 2018 will be the year of growth. The year of growth mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally. Growth is essential for the human experience and I pray that you all continue to strive for growth. Feel free to let me know in the comments how your holiday went and what you have learned in the year 2017♥.
-Stay Blessed y’all,
